Book a round-trip award with both the outbound and return legs on Etihad-operated flights, connect through Abu Dhabi with a layover of 24 hours or more, and Etihad will provide up to two free nights at a partner hotel in Abu Dhabi or nearby Al Ain — in any cabin, not just premium ones. The booking has to go in at least three days before departure, and the traveler covers a AED 15 daily tourism levy per room plus a roughly $9.99 stopover-booking fee; the room itself is otherwise complimentary.

For a Bilt-funded award, that turns a routine transatlantic or transpacific connection through Abu Dhabi into a two-night city stopover for the price of a couple of hotel taxes. Confirm the offer applies to your specific award ticket when you book it, though — Etihad's stopover terms have not always treated miles redemptions and revenue fares identically, so don't assume it's automatic on a miles-only itinerary until the agent or booking flow confirms it. It's worth building into any itinerary that already routes through AUH rather than treating the layover as dead time to minimize.

Bilt's transfer rules add a wrinkle other issuers don't have: the minimum you can move to Etihad Guest (or any Bilt airline partner) depends on your Bilt status. Blue-tier members need at least 2,000 points to initiate a transfer; Silver, Gold, and Platinum members can move as little as 1,000.
